Community Family Tree: Growing Places Walk Map
Trees and woodlands are amongst the slowest growing, largest and oldest living features in the landscape, providing habitat for many plant and animal species as well as valuable resources for people, including access to fresh air and spectacular places to visit.
As a part of their Community Family Tree initiative, over the years local artists from Walking the Land are mapping walks which link places where local people have taken part in landscape care and particularly tree planting projects. In recognition of people’s involvement, commemorative cards will distributed to participants.
This map, initiated by the Growing Places Project, shows a number of these places. A map which hopefully grow to commemorate future tree planting and aftercare.
