A WALK IN SEVEN PAUSES
‘Convergence/Divergence – A Walk in Seven Pauses’ is a collective poem written and recorded during a walk around Pitchcombe in 2023 by the Walking the Land artists collective. Organised by Kel Portman and Janette Kerr, the walk took us through the now largely gentrified village of Pitchcombe and then on and up through beechwoods.
As we walked each walker was invited to pause at various points to jot down thoughts responses in the form of a word or short phrase. Put together they form a collaborative poem – verses reflecting each pause.
The words were recorded, and, along with field recordings and photographs, then assembled and edited by Janette Kerr, with sound mastering by Tom Poole-Kerr at https://www.greenenginerecording.com/
